The best way to improve your reading skills is to READ! We feel that it is very important that fifth graders spend time reading in the classroom and at home. Therefore we require that each student accumulates at least 10 Accelerated Reader points each quarter. Since this requirement is part of the reading grade, the teachers will monitor the students’ progress. In order to stay on track, a child should have at least 3 points by September 19 and at least 6 points by October 10. We will review all scores on October 24, and the final day to get points is October 31. Please help your child find time to read and discuss their selections with them.
