SCRIP PROGRAM
St. Lorenz Lutheran School and Church have an ongoing fundraising program called Scrip. There are over 8,000 schools, churches, and non-profit organizations involved in this proven fundraising program. The profit potential for our organization is unlimited.
What is Scrip?
The term “scrip” means “substitute money”. When families from St. Lorenz purchase scrip, they are actually purchasing gift cards that can be used just like cash. The merchants that provide the scrip offer a percentage of the revenue to organizations that sell it in exchange for the business they receive when you use your scrip at their stores. This means that at no additional cost to you (scrip is sold at face value), you can help raise money for your school fees and the school. It is so easy. There is no difference between Scrip and cash when you go shopping, except you are using gift certificates to purchase your items.
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one! That’s the great thing about using Scrip. It doesn’t cost you a thing. For example, you buy $100 worth of gift cards to your favorite restaurant from Scrip. You pay St. Lorenz $100 and receive $100 in gift cards. The restaurant offers our organization a 10% discount to sell their gift cards, so that restaurant just donated $10 to our school.
Where can I use Scrip?
There are over 60 restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores, gas stations and retail stores in our area where you can use Scrip. Frankenmuth’s Bavarian Inn, Bronner’s, and Zehnder’s also participate in our Scrip program. We stock gift cards from over 60 local retailers and have many more available for you to order.
How do I buy Scrip?
There are two options to purchase Scrip gift cards. In-stock gift cards can be purchased daily (on days school is in session). Gift cards that are not kept in our inventory are ordered weekly. You can print an in-stock order form or a weekly special order form, just click on the forms to the left.
Do you shop at Kroger?
Kroger has an easy to use rewards program available to schools. Rewards are earned each time your Kroger Plus Card is scanned to give you sale prices in the check out line. All you need to do is register your Kroger Plus Card number. For information on how to register your card, email scrip@stlorenz.org.

If you are interested in the scrip program or have any questions, please call Lori Waites at 652-6142 ext. 312 or email scrip@stlorenz.org.
